Borislav Pavlovski Receives the International Dragi Award

Renowned Macedonian studies scholar, philologist and translator Borislav Pavlovski has received the 2026 International Dragi Award for the most significant translation of a literary work originally written in Macedonian.

The award recognizes his Croatian translation of Bayezid and Olivera by Macedonian writer Dragi Mihajlovski which we published earlier this year.

The jury highlighted Pavlovski’s linguistic sensitivity and literary precision, as well as his ability to preserve the rhythm, distinctive style and emotional depth of the original work.

The award carries special symbolic significance as it is presented in the year marking the 75th anniversary of Dragi Mihajlovski’s birth.
